Pathy Samba Tumuenimo
Pathy Samba is a PhD student in Building Arts at the Faculty of Architecture of the Free University of Brussels, where he has been enrolled since 2022-2028 as part of a joint supervision program with the Faculty of Law of the University of Antwerp, a program validated by a joint supervision agreement signed since 2025.
At the Free University of Brussels (ULB), he is a member of the Laboratory on Landscape, Urbanism, Infrastructure, and Ecology.
And at the University of Antwerp, he is appointed as unpaid research staff until 2028 as part of the execution of the co-supervised PhD program with the Free University of Brussels. He is a member of the Business and Law research center.
At the Kongo University (UK), his home university, he is an assistant at the Faculty of Law. He is also co-founder and Deputy Director of the Kongo Center for Environmental Law Studies (CEDEK). Through CEDEK, he participated in the setup of the ARES-PRD and PFS Project obtained in 2025 and led by Géry Leloutre. This project allowed him to expand his fieldwork and diversify the case studies for his thesis. His thesis, currently being written, focuses on 'Managing urbanization by and with neighborhood communities: conceptualizing a legal framework for community action for consumer protection on the outskirts of Mbanza-Ngungu, Matadi, and Kinshasa (Kindele).
He was advised by the cooperation of the Rector of the University of Kongo when around 2015, the Faculty of Architecture of the ULB began an intense partnership with the UK, a partnership that led to the creation of a Faculty of Architecture with situated pedagogy.
