Philippe De Clerck
Philippe De Clerck is PhD researcher within LoUIsE and Design Studio assistant within the Faculty of Architecture of Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB).
He graduated in Architecture (2011) from the Université libre de Bruxelles and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Philosophy (VUB). His PhD explores decommodification of housing through grassroots commoning practices in 3 concrete cases in Belgium. He was previously co-organizer of the masterclasses RE:WORK (2013) and END OF LINE (2014) and a collaborator of ]pyblik[, Quality cell for public space in Brussels. Today, Philippe is a Design Studio assistant and the coordinator of the Semaine d'Innovation Pedagogique, a week-long event aiming at exploring new and situated teaching methods within architecture, in collaboration with external actors. Philippe De Clerck is a founding partner of architecture and urbanism agency DEV-space.
